Do you have any specific spells you'd love to master, someday?
I always wanted to learn medical magic but didn't show enough proficiency for the clerics to let me into the class.
I've also wanted to use electric spells for a long time. A few of the clerics can use them, and they're powerful and make a great noise. I could never get the hang of even a small one.
Probably for the best, though! They can go wrong very quickly if you don't have full control.
Oh medical magic sounds fascinating. I don't know much about how magic works, but maybe you'll show proficiency now that you've learned about emotional casting! Though the ability to store up multiple spells in your book also seems quite useful. Do you think you'll try to teach yourself medical magic, now that you have the Kethra dictionary? Are there any specific spells that you already know about and especially want to learn?
Well, medical magic is a very precise skill with the potential to do harm if you make a mistake, so it's not really considered wise to practice it on a "self-taught" basis. I think I'd be too scared of hurting someone, anyway!
I've learned about emotional casting, yes, but that doesn't automatically mean I can do it. After all, it's possible I just don't have much ability at all.
The book is useful. I'm surprised the other students didn't use them as often. A matter of time, effort, and pride, I suppose, but I do know that advanced people often still use a book in addition to purely vocal casting.
As for a specific spell, I don't know if this will ever be in my wheelhouse, but I've heard that even if someone has lost their pulse, if you are very quick to treat whatever killed them, you can use "adaya" to bring them back. If the body is functional enough and not much time has passed, it can keep living! Apparently, intervening quickly is the key.

As you might have heard, the lumberjacks of Letheamere are revolting against new tariffs that the high council of Oatharn introduced. They can barely feed themselves as of now if we trust them, or they are fat lazy pigs if we count the Oatharn councillors. Do you think that rumours about their armed expedition are true? And should taxes be revoked?
Moreover, since summer no ships from Frostacre have made it to the kingdom's ports. Is it just winter that started a bit early and froze Frostcare ports or perhaps, some sort of tragedy happened there... Shoreshire has sent messengers to Frostacre, but they are probably still travelling to Frostacre. What do you think, is it just early winter, or perhaps...? Anyway please pray for them.
On top of that a mysterious man, known as Butch Hardmeat came from The Holy Forest. He claims to have a god mark of the only true god "God" on his arse. While clerics of Delezar say that's just a mere scar and there's no god named "God", Hardmeat had managed to form some sort of cult around himself. Do you think his claims are true, and we're witnessing a new religion being born? Or is it yet another attempt to form a cult and gain money in shady ways?
I know that it might seem overwhelming but people want to know your opinion on these subjects. (especially people from Port Kasamar. They think that you should publicly read the content of stolen books in the Fat Ass tavern so everyone could know forbidden knowledge. I can't guarantee that's not a trap though.)

Not really, to be honest. If it's at all like concentration casting, then it's a skill that needs to be honed over time rather than one that appears in a sudden outburst.
Though, I really don't know anything about emotional casting at all, so for all I know it could be completely different.
I guess to find out if I've got an affinity for it, I'll just have to try to be less... dead inside? Oh, that came out darker than I intended...
